The article analyzes the dynamics and factors of subjective social well-being of Russians in the context of assessments of the most significant areas of life. It is shown that among Russians there has been a revaluation of many aspects of their lives. The role of intangible components of social well-being has grown. The material aspects of life have reduced their differentiating power. The dominant influence of assessments of external events and factors on an individual’s assessment of the dynamics of their financial situation has been recorded. The factor structure of variables for the subjective social well-being of Russians has been determined. It is quite stable in terms of the dynamics of its components. The most significant components of this structure for the population are identified. Conventionally, they are named “The situation in the microcosm”, “Basic needs”, “Local community” and “Relations with the state”. The greatest discrepancies are recorded in assessments of aspects of subjective well-being related to the individual’s relationship with the state. They should become one of the key subjects for discussion when forming an updated request to the state.
