Abstract

In author’s view, BRICS is a geopolitical rather then economic reality. The idea to create an alliance of the biggest world countries has emerged in the USA during G. Bush-junior presidency, when the USA imagined themselves to be arbiters of the world. As counterweight to this dangerous policy, an alliance of some largest world countries, UNO Security Council members was created involving Russia, China, India and Brazil. Later the most developed African country – the South African Republic joined them. Thus, a line was drawn under unipolar world idea.
