Abstract

The article discusses the condition and challenges of the rural health policy. The materials in this article are based on the results of two nationwide studies (“Life-world of the Russians‑2014” and “Rural living‑2015”), conducted within the framework of the project called “Life-world of the Russians and the evolution of their participation in the implementation of the governmental and social transformations (1990–2010 years”). The main emphasis is made on the estimates of the intermediate results of the health reform, their impact on the inhabitants’ health condition in Russian countryside. The condition of rural health infrastructure, staffing, rural population and health care facilities cooperation and other issues are also considered and evaluated.
