Abstract

Method of researching of sociological demographic aspects of formation of an information culture of the population, approbated on inhabitants of Sverdlovsk area, is offered. Main characteristics of the population's consumption of information, depending on the different types of settlements and the age category of the respondents, are based on the author's model for analyzing the attitude of respondents to information obtained from various sources (private and public), taking into account specifics of the channels and technologies for obtaining and disseminating information, the availability of skills of respondents to work with information and communication technologies, etc.
