This article deals with the situations in the field of respecting human rights in the Russian Federation on the basis of the results of sociological survey conducted in the Samara region. The results show that situation in the field of respecting human rights is not changing. Less than a half of respondents counts that human rights are respected, one fifth of region’s population met with human rights violation. Economic and social rights are the most important ones for respondents, these rights are most often violated. The consequence of this situation is constant struggle for survival, that is why respondents do not perceive the possibility to use the political rights as urgent problem. Respecting human rights is relevant not only to legal or moral aspects, but it is also a prerequisite for a comfortable social well-being: on the one hand, there was discovered an interrelation between estimations of situation in the field of respecting human rights, experienced cases of human rights violation, and on the other hand, estimates of life situation and in the nearest future.
