Abstract
A process of emergence of social and sociological thought in Armenia is presented – from early Middle Age till early XXI century. The stage of the making of sociologicalresearch and education from 1980thtill 1992 is discussed in greater detail. Present-day stateand trends in development of sociology and sociological research in the Republic of Armeniaare presented.
