Abstract

The article examines the status and interrelationship between linguistic life and social integration among Guangzhou’s Russian-speaking population. Statistical analysis of sociological survey data and expert interviews assessed the demographic scale and origins of this group. The following characteristics are described: language competence, language practices, economic value of language, language attitudes, language learning, and language service needs; alongside features of interethnic marriages, housing conditions, cultural participation, daily adaptation, and social adaptability. Mechanisms linking language competence and length of residence to social integration emerge. The growing proportion of young Russian-speaking men in international marriages challenges traditional gender stereotypes while demonstrating intergenerational differences in social integration.
