Abstract

The significant number of textbooks on social technologies published in recent years demonstrates the growing interest in this topic in the training of sociologists. Social technologies occupy a prominent place in the undergraduate and graduate curricula of many universities. This course covers theoretical and methodological issues of social technologies and their practical application. Studying the course develops a range of competencies in students, as outlined in the Federal State Educational Standard (FSES) and in demand in social management, social design, and social engineering. The article provides a brief analysis of recent textbooks and a detailed analysis of a textbook on social technologies published by a team of faculty members from the Faculty of Sociology at Moscow State University. The textbook shows the new problems of practical implementation of social technologies and the relationship of this source with related disciplines in the social sciences and humanities. It is intended for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as instructors of the “Social Technologies” course, and anyone interested in deepening their knowledge of contemporary social management issues using a wide range of social technologies and social governance.
