Stratification Research: between Past and Future

The article relays the major results of the section “Looking back and looking forward: present, past and future of socio-stratification studies” held at the 19th world sociological Congress. The review presents main topics, theoretical foundations and methodology of modern stratification studies. The article makes a point of addressing innovative ideas that enrich sociological knowledge.
