Thirty years ago, Francis Fukuyama in the article “The End of History?” (1989) formulated the thesis about the final victory of the neoliberal model of capitalism. However, the story doesn’t stop. The author shows that the reason for this is the crisis of the existing system of economic relations and institutions of late capitalism. The article systematizes the signs of this crisis and shows that the dominant political and economic elite is looking for a way out of the impasse through “neoliberal conservatism” integrating further dehumanization, desocialization and deregulation into the economy with conservative authoritarian tendencies in politics and ideology. The social basis of this trend is revealed, the social strata opposing it, focused on the progress of human potential and the formation of a more just world order, are characterized.
