Abstract

This article presents a comparative analysis of the opinion of Russians on fertility issues for 2017 and 2022. In particular, the issues of the influence of the state on the number of children in families and the effectiveness of state support when families decide on the birth of a child (children) are considered. According to the results of the study, it was found that the level of expectation of assistance by the population from the state is quite high. At the same time, there is an increase in the proportion of respondents who consider any state influence on the number of children in families unacceptable. It was also found that state assistance measures do not have a great influence on the decision to have the first child, but their role increases with the growth of the birth order.
